Applying Blue

Image
This exercise was to explore colour and how it might be applied in a garden or landscape design. The first image shows blue lighting added to a design for a small courtyard garden from year 2 of my degree course. The second introduces the colour through hard landscaping materials, such as blue pigmented concrete paving and blue ceramic spheres. The paving pattern creates a zoned area under the pergola and the spheres add a focal point.

I've always been fascinated by the power of the sea and spent hours as a child watching the waves. It gives and it takes, it comes and it g...
